The Kit What's in the production bag?

It’s always fun to geek out on new technology. When that new camera comes out, we often need to buy one, rent one, or read about it. Yes, story needs to come first. But the toys are always fun to play with.
Today, my favorite camera is the Canon C100. It’s affordable, small, has a powerful feature set, and delivers a solid image.

The Freefly Movi M10 offers an alternative to the Steadicam with much faster set-up times, a smaller footprint to it get in places a Steadicam can’t, more movement flexibility like low to high-angle, gaining smoother shots much more easily.

A diamond in the rough – this is such a small stealthy camera that it’s a perfect A or B cam for most productions we shoot.   We use an external recorder such as an Atomos Ninja and record the clean HDMI output from this camera and guess what? You’re basically getting the same image quality as you would from the C300 with instant Prores HQ – for a lot less.

In my opinion this is the best DSLR for both video and stills in terms of price vs value & feature ratios.   This is the camera I shoot with for my still and HDSLR video work (timelapse).  Compared to the MKII, the video is significantly cleaner and without moire issues. The Mark III improves upon the Mark II with a range of mechanical upgrades, including a Dual CF/SD Card Slot, and an improved ISO of up to 25600, making this one of the best low-light performing cameras on the market.

Freefly Systems MōVI M5 (Coming Soon)

The Movi M5 has been optimized for use with DSLRs but still uses that same amazing technology that is used on the original Movi M10. The compact form factor and lightweight nature of the MOVI M5 allows camera movement that would be impossible in the past. With the release of the MOVI M5, Freefly aims to bring big budget camera moves to a wider range of productions. We will be offering this unit with Wireless Monitoring and Wired Electronic Follow Focus.
